About LFE

League Football Education (LFE) was created by The English Football League (EFL) and The Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) to deliver the Sporting Excellence Professional (SEP) apprenticeship programme.

Funded by the Department for Education and the PFA, our education programmes are designed in collaboration with clubs, football authorities, and government agencies to ensure the highest standards of learning and development.

In partnership with The EFL and EFL in the Community, LFE also offers a Study Programme for 16–18-year-old learners (male and female), combining sport-related qualifications with the opportunity to represent their club.

With a nationwide network of dedicated staff, LFE works closely with clubs and education providers to support apprentices and learners throughout their two-year journey, helping them succeed both on and off the pitch.
