Charlton Athletic academy graduate Ademola Lookman has signed for Atlético Madrid from Atalanta in a deal worth £30m.
The 2024 African Footballer of the Year moves to the Spanish capital having spent three and a half seasons in Serie A. He scored 55 goals for La Dea, including a hat-trick in Atalanta’s 2024 Europa League final triumph over Bayer Leverkusen.
The Nigeria international becomes the first English-born player to have played in the Premier League, Bundesliga, Serie A and La Liga.
He has put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half-year deal at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.
