Former Tranmere Rovers apprentice Aaron Cresswell has signed for Stoke City on a one-year deal following his departure from West Ham United.
The full-back arrives at the Championship outfit after 11 seasons with the Hammers in which he racked up 312 Premier League appearances – the second most in the club’s history behind Mark Noble.
Talking to Stoke City’s media team after putting pen-to-paper, Cresswell said: “I’m really appreciative of the opportunity to join Stoke City and I’m excited for the season ahead.
“Having spoke with Jon [Walters], the gaffer and Nev [Paul Nevin], who I worked with at West Ham United, it was evident how passionate they are about the project here, while their determination to bring success to the Club was clear.
“I have been fortunate to work in environments of high standards and professionalism throughout my career.
“That’s something which is ingrained in me and I will deliver every day.
“I’m now looking forward to meeting the lads and getting straight to work in Spain this week.”
